Surface, Albert Lafayette

Albert Lafayette Surface, age 93, of Blacksburg died, Monday, February 19, 2018, at his home. He was born in Montgomery County, VA on November 19, 1924 to the late, Maurey and Carrie Surface. He was preceded in death by sister, Dorothy Lansdale.

He was an avid naturalist and story teller.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Surface; son, John Surface (Sherree) , daughters, Angela Abdi (Ralph Henry), Rebecca Clark (Mark); son, Timothy Surface (Crystal); grandchildren, Carrie, Lori, Sean, Arrin (Erica), Carol (Ronnie), Michelle (Lizanne), Mitchell, Sarah, Dylan, Zoe, Blake, and James; niece, Dena Elliott (Sidney); and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplin Robbie Vance officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening.
