Sumner, Mary Woolwine

Mary Woolwine Sumner, age 86, of Christiansburg passed away Sunday, January 14, 2007 at her home, surrounded by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sumner, Sr.; a son, Ralph; and a daughter, Clara Ann Graham; and her parents, Jessie and Nannie Woolwine. She is survived by two sons, Allen Sumner, Sr., and Paul Sumner, Jr., both of Christiansburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Kenneth Bishop, Christiansburg; a special son-in-law, Billy Graham, Blacksburg; and a special daughter-in-law, Shirley Sumner, Roanoke. Also surviving are her special grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ersel Alderman officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. The family wants to give special thanks to the Carolion Hospice, Dr. Thad Lee, and the many friends at Gethsemane Baptist Church for their many acts of kindness.
