Joseph P. Sullivan, 66, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2018, at home in Anchorage, Alaska, after a long battle with many illnesses.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at 11 a.m., with a service at 12 p.m., followed by a reception at Janssen’s Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street, Anchorage, AK 99501. Following the reception, Joe will be laid to rest with military honors at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will include: Ryan Sullivan, Calvin Sullivan, Sam Sullivan, Kent Walton, Timmy Walton and Tim Kroeze.

Joe was born on Aug. 31, 1951, in Christiansburg, Va., to Bernard and Margret Sullivan. Joe trusted Christ Jesus as his personal Savior in 1973. Joe served in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1974. After his service with the military, Joe moved to Anchorage and graduated from University of Alaska Anchorage with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. Joe worked for many years at Inlet Glass and Millwork Inc. Joseph enjoyed woodworking, reading, yardwork, traveling, cooking and visiting with friends and family. He was always ready and willing to help others. Joseph especially loved playing with and reading to his grandchildren.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Beverly Sullivan, of 40 years; daughter, Robin Walton (Kent) of Brodhead, Wis.; son, Ryan Sullivan (Brittani) of Pearl City, Hawaii; son, Samuel Sullivan (Nicki) of Anchorage; daughter, Sarah Sullivan of Anchorage; siblings, Richard, Larry, George, Peggy and Mary Kay Sullivan, all of Virginia; grandchildren, Timothy and Bethany Walton of Wisconsin, Maryah, Calvin, and Joel Sullivan of Hawaii, and Abigail Sullivan of Alaska.

Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Margaret Sullivan.

Arrangements are with Janssen’s Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
