Stump, Owen Gage

stump_owen_gageOwen Gage Stump, 3½ years old, of Christiansburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, after a three month battle of illness. He is preceded in death by his greatgrandfather, Robert “Poppie” Stump, of Christiansburg, grandmother, Sharon Conley Cooper, of Blacksburg. Leaving behind are his parents, Jason and Scarlett Stump and unborn baby brother, Levi Riley, of Christiansburg; his grandparents, Roger and Edith Stump, of Christiansburg, Roger and Lisa Cooper, of Pearisburg; greatgrandparents, Elizabeth Stump, of Christiansburg, Robert and Rosie Conley, of Pearisburg; aunts and uncles, Tony and Angie Stump, of Riner, Roger “Wimpy” and Kristin Stump, of Blacksburg, Roger “RJ” Cooper, of Kelliesville, W.Va., Gary and Kareen Cooper, of Narrows, Arlene Griggs, of Peterstown, W.Va. and Jamie Griggs, of Peterstown, W.Va.; several great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Owen will best be remembered by his love of outdoors, riding 4-wheelers, hunting, fishing, and playing in the dirt. He had a special stuffed dog “Squeaky” that was his best friend. He loved his dog, “Harley”. He always had a wonderful smile and touched the life of so many people. He loved to ride his “big cicle”. He had three special “Uncle Pete’s”. In memory of Owen, we ask that you wear camouflage hats to his services. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 30, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmie Lee Price officiating. Interment will follow in the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to -8 p.m. Saturday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
