Stuart, Herman Adair

Herman Adair Stuart, age 92 of Pulaski, died Friday, October 30, 2015 at Lewis Gale Hospital – Salem. He was born on June 30, 1923 in Pulaski, and was the son of the late Sarah Williams Stuart and Samuel Morrison Stuart.

He was a former employee of Air Control Corp. in Pulaski, was a member of Calvary Chapel Church in Dublin, a WWII Veteran having served in the 14 Cavalry and 18th Recon Div. with a Purple Heart. He was also a proud member of the V.F.W. Post 1184.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: brothers; Leonard, Burl, Gilbert, Melvin, and Loren Stuart: sisters; Annabelle Stuart; Mildred Stuart; daughter, Myron Sue Edwards, Zolly Stuart Irma Umberger, and Beatrice Crockett.

purpleheartHe is survived by his wife, Roselle Hayter Stuart of Pulaski, sons: Travis Stuart and his wife Cindy of Pulaski, Furl Stuart of Pulaski, and Garland Stuart and his wife Sierra of Pulaski: a daughter; Velda Jarrells and her husband Mike of Pulaski: step-daughters; Nancy Simpson of Gastonia, NC, Catherine Wingate of Moravian Falls, NC, Josephine Zimmerman of Inman, SC, Irene Thompson of Quartz Hill, CA, Pat Ring of Pulaski. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Alley officiating, and military honors will be provided at the conclusion of the service. A private family interment will be held in Thorn Spring Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his memory to the V.F.W. Post 1184 P.O. Box 2005 Pulaski, Va 24301.
