Stowers, Donald Lee

Donald Lee Stowers, 76, of Christiansburg, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. He was born in Clearfork, VA on June 4, 1937 to the late Wiley and Clara Walters Stowers. He retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant after 22 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Stowers; his daughter, Debbie Stowers Roseberry, Christiansburg; two sons, Ricky Stowers and Sylvia Rose, and Bennie Stowers, all of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Levi Seth Stowers, Christiansburg, Leslie Ann Stowers, Camron Baxter, Mechanicsville, Luke and Leanna Stowers, Christiansburg, Candise Rose, Christiansburg; great-granddaughter, who was Pawpaw’s Little Angel, Aliah Stowers, Mechanicsville; his sister, Beulah Stowers Fox, Bishopsville, SC; his brother, James W. Stowers, Princeton, WV; canine grandchildren, Carmel, Dandy, and Annabell; special friends, Brenda Lester, of Riner, and George Joly, Newport. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Jerry Shepherd and Rev. Jube Burk officiating. Interment will follow in the Boyd Cemetery, Narrows. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church, 915 Montgomery Street, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. Friends may call anytime after 5:00 pm Friday, and the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday evening at Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church.
