Stone, Gail Rhoads

Dr. Gail Rhoads Stone, 67, of Radford, Va., passed away in the comfort of her home on Thursday morning, November 11, 2010. Left to celebrate her remarkable life are her mother, Mae Meeker Rhoads; brother, James Riley Rhoads; sister-in-law, Deborah Leigh Rhoads; niece, Linda Leigh Rhoads Strelka; and nephew, George James Rhoads. Born in Alta, Ga., Dr. Stone was a trailblazer, one of only two women in her medical school class, valedictorian of her high school, an adventurer and avid traveler. She will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held at DeVilbiss Funeral Home 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2010, with Dr. Paul Lane officiating. Interment will follow at West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Dr. Gail R.
