Saul C. Stokes, age 88 of Dublin passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013 in Highpoint, N.C. Born June 10, 1925 in Barney, GA. (Brooks County), he was the son of the late Roosevelt Stokes and Ethel White Stokes. His wife of fifty-four years, Lucy Garrett Stokes also preceded him in death.

Mr. Stokes was a veteran of the United States Navy and he was a retired truck driver.

Surviving- Son- Derrick Stokes and fiancée, Ms. Gloria Keys- Blacksburg, VA., Daughter- Cheryl Brown-Greensboro, NC., Grandchildren- William D. Barnes, Jr. and wife, Nasra-Greensboro NC., Bianca Williams and husband ,Omar- Brooklyn, NY., Jade Barnes-Upper Marlboro, MD. Great Grandchildren- Nassim Farah, Dikra Farah, Hanna Yusuf and Amira Barnes- Greensboro, NC. Great Nephew and Family- Mr. & Mrs. Marvin Arnold & daughter’s Brooke and Brittani-Dublin.

Graveside services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m., July 29, 2013 at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin with the Rev. Oliver Lewis officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Pulaski V.F.W. Post # 1184.
