Ira Lee Stith, 94 of Pulaski, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Carrington Place in Wytheville, VA. He was born November 26, 1923 to the union of James and Betty Stith.

He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1943. As a young man, Ira liked reading all types of books, which included westerns, Star magazines and Esquire magazines. He read the entire bible completely through (3) three times; his favorite book was Job. He was employed at Coleman Furniture and Pulaski Furniture for many years until they closed in 2007.

Ira was preceded in death by his parents, James and Betty Stith; brothers, Robert Lewis Stith and James Odell Stith; sisters, Helen Kirkland and Elizabeth Carter; and grandson John Patrick, IV.

He leaves to cherish his memory, Margie Stith his devoted wife of 68 years, two sisters, Bonnie Hash, Pulaski, VA, and Janice Hale of Roanoke, VA, one son, Ira Stith, Jr.; three daughters, Awana (John) Patrick, Roanoke, VA; Debra (Douglas) Patterson, Pulaski, VA; Sherry Smith, Dublin, VA, six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of nieces, and nephews and special friends, Marie Babb who always brought him little goodies she thought he could use, and Junior Redd who was always there to assist him when needed.

A funeral service will be held 12 noon September 14, 2018 at First Baptist Church Magazine Street in Pulaski, Va.
