Robert Levi Stigger, 92, of Warm Hearth Drive, Blacksburg, Va. peacefully passed away on January 18, 2024, at Heritage Hall, Blacksburg, Va. Robert was born on October 12, 1931, to William Levi Stigger and Anna Lucille Lester, Stigger in the bustling little county of Pulaski Va.

Robert enlisted into the 25th Army Infantry on February 26, 1953, as Private-1st Class. He later transferred to the Army Reserve to complete his 8 years’ service, under the Universal Military Training and Service Act. Afterwards, Robert worked for several years in Food Service at the Tyler Hotel, Radford VA. In his spare time, he pursued his love of fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Robert had a lifelong relationship with Christ, being reared in a home of devout Christians, he often told stories of them attending New Hope Methodist Church in New River on the Sundays the boys went to church with their mother and First Missionary Baptist Church in New River, when they went with their father. The girls of the family would go with the other parent.

Robert liked to laugh and tell jokes. Quite often, he’d forget that he had told you a joke and would tell it again. Most would laugh at it again, because he was laughing.

Robert was predeceased by his mother and father, brothers James Stigger, William Stigger and sisters Laura Delapp, Alma Beaver, and Hazal Miller. He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Services will be held at Mullins Funeral Home, 120 West Main St., Radford, VA 24141 on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 12:00 PM.
