Stewart, Frances Ellen Whitlow
Frances Ellen Whitlow Stewart, 89 of Kingsport, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport.
She was born in Giles County, Virginia on January 15, 1918 and was the daughter of the late Alonzo James and Hattie Ellen Peters Whitlow. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ishmael W. (Bud) Stewart; four brothers, James Whitlow, Caudill Whitlow, Lonnie Whitlow and John Whitlow; and three sisters, Maggie Turner, Doris Clemmons, and Lola Gills.
Frances was a member of Blountville Church of God in Blountville, Tennessee and a former member of the National Church of God in Washington, D.C.
She is survived by three sisters, Polly Hodge and husband Harry of Blacksburg, Virginia, Faye Smith and husband Allen of Lake Wales, Florida, and Brownie Sinclair of Clinton, North Carolina; a brother-in-law, Sidney Gills of Lake Wales, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks is extended to a special nephew, Calvin Turner of Narrows, who cared for Frances for 11 years, and to a special niece, Patricia Stewart of Kingsport for the care given to her.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows, Virginia with the Rev. Ron Hodge and the Rev. Aubrey Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park in Princeton, West Virginia.
