Stewart, Charlene Kay Robertson

Charlene Kay Robertson Stewart, 61, of Narrows, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. A lifelong resident of Narrows, she was born on February 19, 1949, and was the daughter of Janet Gordon Bowles Robertson and the late Eugene Elwood Robertson. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Leon Stewart Sr. Kay was an employee of Food Time in Narrows for 27 years, where she served as the deli manager. She was a friend to all and dearly loved her family. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Janet; two sons, Aaron Eugene Stewart, and Herman Leon Stewart Jr.; three daughters, Janet Yvonne Robertson and husband, Barry Myers, Sherri Lester, and Krissey Stewart, all of Narrows; five grandchildren, Kayley Spicer, Destini Stewart, Herman Stewart III, Tyler Wofter and Emily Wofter; a brother, John Robertson and wife, Joyce, of Pearisburg; three sisters, Carol Vaught and husband, Wayne, of Rich Creek, Deidri Thornton and husband, David, of Narrows, and Eva Weddle and husband, Ralph, of Roanoke; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and numerous special friends who she cherished. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); 605 Memorial Boulevard in Narrows with the Rev. Dennis Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at First Christian Church on Friday, November 12, 2010, from 6 to 9 p.m. The family requests that those sending memorial contributions, please consider the Giles County Relay For Life to benefit the American Cancer Society .
