Tonya Lynn Dunford Stevens, 19, of Pulaski, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 30, 2010. Born on July 10, 1990, in Pulaski, she was the daughter of Linda Sutphin Nuckols and the late Donald O’Dell Dunford. Her uncle, Garry R. Sutphin, also preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Pulaski County High School. Surviving is her husband, Pvt. William Albert Stevens, Korea; mother, Linda Sutphin Nuckols, of Pulaski; maternal grandmother, Lois Wilson, of Salem; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Dunford, of Pulaski; maternal grandfather, Hubert R. and wife, Violet Sutphin, of Draper; great-grandmother, Mary Magdalene Sutphin, of Pulaski; half sisters, Leslie D. Boyd and husband, Paul, of Frankfort, Ky., and Lauren Dunford, of Dublin; cousins, Amber Sutphin, Jason Sutphin, Corintha Dunford and Odell Dunford; special friends, Rachael Burton and Kayla Meadows; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Laurie Stevens, of Buena Vista, Colo.; and sister-in-law, Carrie Schafer, of Leesburg, Va. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2010, at the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Randall Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday evening, May 6, 2010, at the Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
