Stephens, Lila Haga

Lila Haga Stephens, 79, of the Little Creek Community, Dublin, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2008, from her home.

She was a beloved mother who was born on March 18, 1929, in Pulaski County, Va., and was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Hurley and Lakie French Haga; her husband, Emory L. Stephens; a sister, Polly Stafford; and three brothers, Garnett, Willie and Robert Haga. She was a member of the Alum Springs Holiness Church.

She is survived by six daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Clark, of Dublin, Bonnie and John Snidow, of Staffordsville, Lillie and Tony Sweeney, of Staffordsville, Rita and Darrell Ervin, of Pearisburg, Drema and Stephen Johnston, of Ballard, W.Va., and Lisa and Paul Grubb, of Staffordsville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Linda Stephens, of Staffordsville, James (Albert) and Belinda Stephens, of Pearisburg, Jeffery Stephens, of Dublin, and Andrew (Andy) Stephens, of Dublin; six sisters, Virginia Haga, of Dublin, Louise Stafford, of North Carolina, Ruth Brewer, of Ohio, Alean Myers, of Ohio, Geneva Hurst, of Florida, and Linda Boswell, of Ohio; three brothers, David Haga, of Dublin, Hurley Haga (Junior), of Riner, and Paul (Woody) Haga, of Dublin; 16 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008, at French’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Larry Woodyard and the Rev. Darrell Wright officiating. Interment in the Appalachian Conference Pentecostal Holiness Cemetery, Dublin. The visitation will be at French’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church on Saturday, April 19, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate is in charge of arrangements.
