Stephens, Eva Mitchell

Eva Mitchell Stephens, 66, of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, in the Lewis Gale Hospital, Pulaski. She was born in Durham, N.C., on December 30, 1945, the daughter of the late Laurence Cornelius and Nannie Westbrook Mitchell. She worked in the environmental services department of Carilion St. Albans Hospital. Surviving are her husband, Howard Milton Stephens Sr.; children, Brenda Carol Stephens, of Martinsville, Clara Ann Stephens, of Little Creek, Howard M. Stephens Jr., of Little Creek, and Timothy Howard Stephens, of Dublin; sisters, Geraldene Cole and Nellie Fae Terrell, both of Hillsboro, N.C., and Peggy Jean Gese, of Goldsboro, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012, from Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willa Roseberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, July 5, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va., 540-980-2600.
