Steele, Elizabeth Hackney

Ora Elizabeth “Liz” Hackney Steele, 70 of Narrows, VA went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 1, 2022, at her home. Liz was born on June 9, 1952, in Elgood, WV and was a daughter of the late Gladys Pauline Long Hackney and Montana Hackney. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James Hackney and Beacher Hackney.

Ora received her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown, VA. She worked in group homes for special needs individuals for many years and had a great compassion for others. She loved the company of her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren and she enjoyed her fur babies, Benji, Chico, Penny and Bailey.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Misty Elizabeth Greer-Floyd (John Sherman) of Bunker Hill, WV, Melissa Eve Mullins (Tony) of Princeton, WV, 1 son, Michael Earl Greer of Winchester, VA, 4 grandchildren, Meghan Ashby, Myiah Greer, Myleah Floyd, Tony Mullins, Jr., 2 great grandchildren, Willow Ashby, Wyatt Ashby, 2 sisters, Shirley Maxine Overbay (Thurman) of Princeton, Hazel Lee Lawrence of Narrows and 1 brother, Bill Hackney of Henry, VA.

Liz requested that no services will be held.
