Stas, Luba

Luba Stas, of Christiansburg, and Salem Health and Rehabilitation Center in Salem, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012. She was born in Vanport, Pa. in 1918, and spent most of her life in Baden, Pa. She was a beloved mother to Janet and husband, Fred Lamb, and Micheal Stas, son and his wife, Myra. She had five grandchildren, Paul Lamb, deceased, Susan Anderson and Cortelyou, Michael Stas and special friend, Perizat Palichat, Carrie and Ken Michalik, and Emily and Brian Jarrup. She had one great-grandson, Jack Jarrup. Special thanks are given to the staff of Salem Health and Rehab, especially Unit 1. Their kindness and love over the past 14 years are appreciated more than words can say. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Blacksburg at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012. She will be returned to Pennsylvania to be buried in Sylvania Hills. Arrangements are being handled by McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg.
