Stanger, Gladys Delaine

Gladys Delaine Stanger, age 75, of Christiansburg died Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Heritage Hall Health Care. She was born in Tazewell County, VA on March 3, 1939.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Elmo Hoback, mother, Madeline Sheppard, step-father, Harry Sheppard, also her husband, Richard Hart Stanger, sister Ann Ratcliff, and step-son, Daniel Stanger.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa McCoy and Jim Jarrett, Ramona and Chuck Scott, Carolyn and Johnny Jones, son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Cathy Stanger, sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley and Brent Whitaker, Peggy Matusevich, step-brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Patsy Sheppard, Dale and Florence Sheppard, Dean Sheppard, and Wayne Sheppard, nine grandchildren, special grandson, Tyler, and three great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff members at Heritage Hall, for the care given.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Leonard officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4335 Cox Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2:00 pm Thursday afternoon at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
