Stanford, Richard Titus

Richard Titus Stanford, 66, of Christiansburg passed away Monday, May 23, 2016. He was born June 16, 1949 at Fort Bragg, N.C. He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Helen S. Stanford.

Richard was a loving and devoted father. He was an avid Hokie fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He never met a stranger and was a generous and caring friend. Richard owned and operated Stanford Dental Lab for 40 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Amy D. Stanford and Erika S. Perdue of Christiansburg, V.A. He is, also, survived by his brothers, John A. Stanford and wife, Jan, of Durham, N.C. and Col. (Ret) Edward T. Stanford and wife, Gloria, of Kingsport, T.N. and sister, Susan S. Oglesby and husband, Larry, of Durham, N.C. and his furry companion, Titus. He is, also, survived by his nieces, Lori, Susan, Julia, and Katie, their spouses and children, as well as special friends Sharon “Dovie” Jordan, Roy Haley, and Cheryle Barrett.

Per Richard’s wishes, a private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
