Stafford, Sr., Luther Bane

Luther Bane Stafford, Sr., 76 of Pearisburg, Va went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 21, 2014 at his home in the loving care of his family.

Mr. Stafford was born on June 19, 1937 in Pearisburg, VA and was a son of the late Joe P. Stafford and Dorothy Robertson Stafford. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe R. Stafford and Brooks Stafford.

Mr. Stafford was a lifelong resident of Giles County, was a retired 1st class pipefitter with the Celanese Corp in Narrows with over 20 years service and was a lifelong farmer on the family property. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor Woodyard Stafford of Pearisburg, one son, Luther Bane Jr. of Pearisburg, two grandsons, Michael Bane Stafford and wife Aimee, Shane Stafford and wife Jessica and great grandchildren, Jacob Stafford, Eliana Stafford and soon to be Weston Stafford and mother of Michael and Shane, Kathy Stafford.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev Amy Bartee and Charles Henderson officiating with burial following in the Peck Cemetery in Bane, Va. The family will receive friends, Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 pm at the Givens Funeral Home.
