Stafford, John Junior

John Junior Stafford, 89, of CT Snidow Road, Narrows, Va., departed this life for his Heavenly home on Friday morning, January 13, 2012, at Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg after a long illness.

Born in Princeton, W.Va., on December 2, 1922, he was a son of the late Burke Banks and Annie Neice Stafford. He was a member of Bethel Chapel, a graduate of Pembroke High School, was retired from the Celanese Plant as a Supervisor with 43 years service, and was one of the first TV repairmen in the area.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Elizabeth (Pig) Williams Stafford; his brothers, Emory, Ed, and Willard Stafford; and his sisters, Margie Sadler and Katherine Morris. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Peggy (Darlene) Taylor Stafford; his son, John Willard and his wife, Pam Stafford, of Ripplemead; his grandchildren, Michael Dewayne Stafford, of Dublin, and Lisa Martin, of Narrows; his great-grandchildren Kelly N. Martin and Paige Martin; his daughter-in-law, Virginia Mae Bland Stafford, of Narrows; and his stepchildren, Steve Davenport, of Yorktown, Cheryl Hearns, of Petersburg, and Mark Davenport, of Florida.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2012, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with his Pastor, Eddie Kendall, officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening, January 14, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m.
