amem_autumn.jpgFrances Virginia DeBusk Stafford, 91, of Pearisburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 6, 2009, at Riverview Nursing Home, Rich Creek. She was born on August 18, 1917, at Saltville, Va., the daughter of the late Robert Franklin and Emma Nutter DeBusk.

In addition to parents, she was preceded by her husband, John Lacy Stafford; a brother, Paul Edward DeBusk; three sisters, Mildred (Sue) Deck, Jean Burris, and Betty Wheeler.

She was an active member of the Providence United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by three daughters, Emma Jean Mitchell, of Collinsville, Shirley L. Young, of Fairfield, Calif., and Janice Kurtz, of Ruckersville, Va.; two brothers, R.F. DeBusk Jr., of Shreveport, La., and Richard A. DeBusk, of Ripplemead; two sisters, Barbara DeBusk, of Princeton, W.Va., and Doris Thomas, of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; and four greatgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2009, at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate with the Rev. Ted Anders officiating. Burial in the Staffordsville Cemetery, Staffordsville. The visitation will be held on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, Ill. 60601.
