Spillman, Betty Eberhart

Betty Eberhart Spillman, 79, of Radford, Va., died peacefully in her home Saturday, January 22, 2011. She was born in Norfolk, Va., November 23, 1931. She was preceded in death by her parents, David Cleon Eberhart and Elizabeth Ware Eberhart; and her son, James Todd Spillman. She is survived by her husband, J. Blair Spillman; children, Beth Spillman, Linda Newell, Shirley Cullop and Susan Spillman; grandchildren, Ian and Danielle Weaver, Jesse, Matt, and Kevin Newell, Rachael and Devin Cullop. Betty was very dedicated to many in her community, volunteering in many activities such as researching historical roadways in Virginia for VDOT. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to all in the medical community who helped Betty and touched our lives. No memorial service is planned. Those wishing to share with us are invited to our home at 135 Charmont Drive, Radford, Thursday January 27, 2011, between 6 and 8 p.m. Burial will be in Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton, Va.
