Spicer, Mary Elizabeth Markwood (Betty)

Mary Elizabeth Markwood (Betty) Spicer, 85, of Blacksburg, passed away on July 18, 2012, at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery. She is preceded in death by two brothers, William Markwood and Thomas Markwood. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years, William Spicer; her sister, Lynn McClench, of Blacksburg; sister, Josephine Blue and her husband, Thomas, of Charlottesville; brother, Robert Markwood and his wife, Madeline, of Williamsburg; sister, Suzanne Markwood Yowell, of Fawn Grove, Pa.; sister-in-law, Anne Harris, of Charlottesville; many nieces and nephews; as well as numerous friends and church family. The funeral service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Blacksburg on July 22, 2012, at 1 p.m., followed by a reception in the parish hall.
