Spicer, Jerry Meredith

amem_newriver.jpgJerry Meredith Spicer, 68, of Poplar St. in Narrows, departed this life Thursday morning, July 9, 2009, at Pulaski Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pulaski after a long illness. Born in Narrows on May 10, 1941, he was a son of the late Willie A. “Buck” and Ercell Keffer Spicer.

He had been employed before his disability at National Gypsum Co. and RAAP.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Arnold, Bobby and Ronnie Spicer; and sister, Joyce S. Blankenship. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Judy Albert Spicer; his daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Miguel Beskar, of Roanoke, and Kezia and Jerry Johnson, of Narrows; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Polly Spicer, of Narrows, Billy Spicer, of Pearisburg, Jeffrey and Shelley Spicer, of Narrows; his sisters and brother-in-law, Loretta and Roger Blankenship, of Pearisburg, and Brenda Meadows, of Narrows; his grandchildren, Mallory Jo Johnson, Margo Elizabeth Johnson and Brady Nicholas Beskar.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 12, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Shahn Wilburn and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery at Mt. View.
