Spencer, Mary Lee

Mary Lee Spencer, 61, of Salem, and formerly of Christiansburg, died Friday, July 11, 2008, at her home.

She was born in Blacksburg on January 28, 1947, and was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Lucille Slusher. Mary attended the Christian Fellowship Tabernacle in Christiansburg.

She is survived by her parents, Jack and Maude Jones, of Christiansburg; her daughter and son-in-law, Trina and Bruce Maxey, of Salem; son, Kenneth Spencer and companion, Michelle, of Christiansburg; three sisters and a brotherin-law, Emma Womack, Ruth Robinson, Gale and Larry Gibson, all of Christiansburg; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Linda Early, of Christiansburg; four grandchildren, Dustin Spencer, Jessica Lovern and companion, Chris Cockran, Emily Maxey, and Clarie Maxey; a greatgrandchild, Ariana Cockran; former husband, John Spencer, of Shawsville; her beloved pet, Romeo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earnest Fulcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.

Friends may call anytime on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, and the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg, Va.
