Sparks, Karen Scott

Karen Diane Scott Sparks 65, of Narrows, VA went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Princeton Community Hospital. Karen was born on April 3, 1955 in Pearisburg, VA and was a daughter of the late Gilbert Scott and Dorothy Sabat Bishop and her step-father, James Barger Bishop. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James (Bill) Sparks.

Karen was a member of the First Christian Church in Pearisburg. She also cherished and loved her grandchildren. She was a former employee of VA Tech, the New River Valley Jail and the Walmart Store in Pearisburg.

She is survived by one daughter, Ashley Paige Sparks (Billy Joe Spicer) of Narrows, four grandchildren, Justice Stowers, Willow Stowers, Talon Sparks, Destiny Spicer, one sister, Kimberley Bishop Andrews (Chris) of Roanoke and one brother, Jeff Bishop (Pam) of Pearisburg.

Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 11:00am at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows with the Rev. Dr. Fred L. Austin. We will be observing COVID-19 precautions, please wear a mask and observe social distancing.
