Spangler, Linda Lee Steele

Linda Lee Steele Spangler, 69 of Pembroke went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 17th, 2012. She was born in McAlpin, Harrison County, West Virginia on May 31st, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Cleophus Gaston Steele, Sr. and Bertha Mae Doss Steele. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Lynn Neal; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Pete Wilburn; and a brother, C.G. Steele, Jr. Linda, affectionately known as “Mawmaw Hardee’s,” enjoyed making Sunday dinner and spending time with her family. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Malinda Hodge and husband Richard of Pembroke; five grandchildren, Jerry Martin and friend Brian Sparks, both of Roanoke, Melissa Martin and husband Chad of Christiansburg, Tiffanie Epperly and husband Kenny of Pembroke, Samantha Neal of Peterstown, Cody Neal of Falls Mills, Virginia; two great-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Willow Epperly; a brother, Johnny Steele of Salem; three sisters, Beverly Sapp of Sophia, West Virginia, Carolyn Morris of Pearisburg, and Sherry Christian of Christiansburg; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 21st, 2012 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Chapel Friday from 12 noon until just prior to the service.
