Spangler, Jonathan W.

Jonathan W. Spangler, 69, of Blacksburg, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 11, 2014, in Lewis Gale Medical Center in Montgomery County. John was born August 13, 1945, in Shawsville, and was one of 10 children born to Isaac E. Spangler and Ethel B. Craighead.

He was preceded by his eight brothers and is survived by his one sister, Mary R. Haymaker and husband, Wayne, of Virginia Beach,; along with three sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a few great-aunts and great-uncles.

John is a United States Army Vietnam Service Veteran and a member of DAV, Chapter VA29.

Jean Pauley will deliver his cremains to his Mom and Dad’s cemetery, The Spangler Family Cemetery, in Shawsville for a private graveside service.
