Spangler, Gloria Jean

Gloria Jean Spangler, 67, of Roanoke, Va., and formerly of Pembroke, Va., departed this life on Monday morning, April 6, 2009, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born in Giles County on November 19, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Fred Williams and Pauline Szabat Williams Baird.

She was a beloved mother, excellent cook and had a big heart to help everyone else.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Vanessa Jean Spangler Martin, of Roanoke, Teresa Renee Spangler Bright, of Roanoke, and Michelle Johnson, of Roanoke; her grandchildren, Tara Bright, Krista Bright, and Aric Bright; her brothers, Jerry Williams, of High Point, N.C., and Bob Williams, of Columbus, Ohio; and a special and dear friend, Noelia Venerio.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2009, in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services. Following cremation burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park at Pearisburg honoring Gloria’s request.
