Turner, Danny Lee

Danny Lee Turner, 63, of Dublin, formerly of Piney, passed away Monday, June 1, 2009. In loving and most fond memories of our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend to all who knew and loved Danny who went to be with the Lord. He fought a courageous battle with Esophageal Cancer and is now at peace in Heaven watching over all of his loved ones, awaiting that glorious day that we all meet again. Danny was born and raised in Piney, Va. He is survived by his wife, Betty Carol Turner, of Dublin; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Philip Cox, of Hiwassee, Teresa Turner and Eric Naff, of Dublin, Samantha and Hymen Summers, of Maryland; his parents, Theodore R. "Ted" Jr. and Elizabeth Arnold Turner, of Ft. Chiswell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Lewis Sawyers, of Fort Chiswell, Debra and James Woodyard, of Piney, Lynn and Jimmy Sonner, of Max Meadows; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry Turner, of Ft. Chiswell, Lou and Marcia Turner, of Lynchburg, Randy and Tonia Turner, of Ft. Chiswell, Ted and Donna Turner, Ft. Chiswell, Jamie Turner, of Pulaski; seven grandchildren, Travis, Devin, Kayla, Heather, Jay, James and JJ. Funeral service will be Thursday, 11 a.m. in the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Joe Carico with the interment in the Turner Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Grubb Funeral Home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. From his wife Betty and twin daughters Teresa and Lisa–you will always be remembered as the light of our lives, the one who could always make us smile. You were always the jokester who loved to play games and spend time with your family no matter what. You will truly be missed. You were our rock we leaned on.
