Sowers, Sylvia

Sylvia Sowers, 66, of Christiansburg, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at her home. She was born in Montgomery County, Va., on July 1, 1945, to the late Paul E. and Gertrude Baker Sowers. She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Wrenn Sartin and husband, Jamie, and Tonia Lynn Cochran and fiance, Mark Cahow; grandchildren, Crystal Leah Sartin and Ashley Dawn Sartin; great-grandchildren, Mya Nicole Sartin, and Kylee Jade Sartin; sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley Sowers, and Jo Ann Sowers and Larry Lytton; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Teresa Sowers, and Dennis and Kathy Sowers. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Burrell Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, VA 24073. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, April 13, 2012, at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, Va.
