Sowers, Ferd Archie

Ferd Archie Sowers, 82, of Christiansburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. He was born on May 24, 1927. He was preceded in death by Vera Conner, Harold Sowers, Buelah Martin, Howard Sowers, and Zorene Radford. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lorraine Sowers; his granddaughter, Heather Self; grandson, Jeremiah Gearheart; two greatgrandchildren “the apples of his eyes,” Mason and Blair Self; and his sister, Helen Graham.

The family will receive friends at Horne Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009, at Christiansburg Church of Brethren with the Rev. Don Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, Va.
