sowers clarenceClarence Edwin Sowers, 81, of Radford, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and owner of Sowers Paving Inc. and retired from Lynchburg Foundry with 37 years of service. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a very giving and loving man and will be missed by his family and community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Wickham Sowers; brothers, H. C. and Tommy Sowers; and sisters, Virginia Small and Gertrude Buckland. Survivors include his daughter, Rita S. Quesenberry; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Marie Sowers; grandchildren, Charlie Quesenberry, Jessie (Donald) Norris, Katie Hinkley and Daniel Sowers, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Mae and Faith Ann Norris, and Skylar, Cole and Kaven Hinkley ; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Ray and Barbara Sowers of Radford; sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma Jean Bishop of Radford, Walton Buckland of Baytown, TX, Lilly Mae Trigg of Dearborn, Mich., and Mary Ann and Lakie Linkous of Radford. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Calvary Baptist Church in Radford with Rev. Brian Cockram and Rev. O. D. Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
