Soucek, Mabel Long

Mabel Long Soucek, 77, of Radford, Va., died on Monday, November 10, 2008, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church over 70 years. She was very active in the Radford Humane Society and loved animals.

She was preceded in death by a son, Edward Meade Soucek; and a infant child, baby Soucek. Surviving are her husband, Edward M. Soucek; son and daughter-in-law, James Randolph and Priscilla Soucek; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and James Torgersen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Joann Soucek, and Leo E. and Evelyn Soucek; sister-in-law, Evelyn Lipp; grandchildren, James Randolph Soucek Jr., Jonathan Soucek, Samantha Torgersen, and Paul Torgersen; and foster son, Gene Gregory.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008, at First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Dr. Paul Lane officiating.
