Felix George Sorrentino, 90, of Blacksburg, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at New River Valley Medical Center.

He was born in South Amboy, N.J. on December 8, 1915 to the late Dominick and Elizabeth Vaglio Sorrentino. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Gray Sorrentino.

He enlisted in the United States Army in 1935, serving first in the Coast Artillery Corps and later in the Signal Corps and the Army Air Corps. After retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer in 1958, he received additional schooling at the RCA Institute and Villanova University and worked as a technical writer for the Boeing Company and Litton Industries.

In 1985 he and Elsie moved to Blacksburg, where they enjoyed being with family and making new friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Peg Sorrentino of Blacksburg; brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Marie Sorrentino of South Amboy, N.J.; sister-in-law, Helen Sorrentino, South Amboy, N.J.; stepgrandchild, Elizabeth Webb of New York City and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted in South Amboy, N.J. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
