Sorah, Beatrice Faye

Beatrice Faye Sorah, 68, of Christiansburg went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 17, 2021. She was preceded in death by her dad, Howard Whitaker; mother, Thelma Dickerson; brother, Michael Whitaker; husband, Johnny Sorah; sister-in-law, Diana Bane; nephew, Shawn Bane; and cousin who was also a good friend, Carolyn Cherry.

Faye is survived by her second husband, Buddy Hinkley; son, Jeffrey Sorah; daughter, Crystal Sorah (Greg Adkins); grandson, Logan Adkins; brothers, John Whitaker, Howard Whitaker Jr. (Kathy), Jerry Whitaker (Judy), Woody Whitaker, Randy Whitaker (Carrie); her pet, Star; as well as numerous nieces and nephews that she loved very much. Also surviving are her friends, Romunda Santos, Pam Harrison, and Debbie Rader.

She worked at nursing homes being a nurse. She loved her family and friends, and believed in God. Her hobbies were drinking coffee and visiting her friends, Carolyn Cherry and Diana Bane. She loved animals: her cat and dog Benji who passed away a long time ago. Faye loved taking care of Misty Vest and Jerry Whitaker. Her grandson had a very special place in her heart – she called him Mawmaw’s baby doll.

The family would like to thank Dr. Solomon for his care of Faye. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Horne Funeral Home to offset expenses.
