Sonner, James Preston

James (Jimmy) Preston Sonner, age 64 of Pulaski, died Tuesday December 18, 2012 at Lewis Gale Hospital – Salem. He was born on April 24, 1948 in Pulaski, to Lucy Crowder Sonner Newman and the late James Early Sonner.

Jimmy was an avid fisherman, and when he was found with his pole, he was never happier.

He is survived by his wife, Willie Sonner of Pulaski: his mother; Lucy Crowder Sonner Newman of Pulaski: a son; Jimmy Sonner and his wife Lynn of Wytheville: a daughter; Jennifer Sonner of Fries: a step-son; Freddie S. Sonner and his wife Angie of Pulaski: a step-daughter; Linda S. Campbell and her husband Daniel of Pulaski: three brothers: Freddie W. Sonner of Pulaski, Roger R. Sonner and his wife Ruby of Pulaski, and Leonard Sonner and his wife Cathy of Thomasville, NC. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday December 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Seagle Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Thornspring Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
