Songer, Rachel Glenna

Rachel Glenna Songer, 83, 0f Rich Creek, departed this life Thursday morning, June 20, 2019 in the care of her loving family and hospice. Born in Pearisburg on November 27, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Frank Elliston Williams and Maggie Collins Williams.

Rachel was retired from VPI Food Service. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Songer, her brothers Raymond Williams and Buster Williams, and her sisters Dorothy Williams, Ellen Songer and Mary Songer.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Joann Brown (Dennis) of Pembroke and Cheryl Albert of Rich Creek; her brother Layman Williams (Jean) of Newport; her sister Shirley Hazelwood of Roanoke; her five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
