Songer, Carl Edward

Carl Edward Songer, 21, of Blacksburg, passed away Friday, October 31, 2008. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina Naval Hospital on November 28, 1986 to Carl (Binky) L. Songer and Angela Linkous Songer. Carl graduated from Blacksburg High School and attended New River Community College for two years. In addition to his parents, Carl is survived by his loving grandparents, Francis and Everett Hill, Christine and Junior Linkous, Edward and Claudia Mullins; great-grandparents, Sylvia and Harless Linkous; aunt, Katrina Swaine; special cousin, Yasmine Hoston; uncle, Wesley and Amanda Linkous; cousin, Hayden Linkous, all residing in the New River Valley. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 1 p.m. in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg, with the Rev. Jerry Sloss officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to McCoy Funeral Home to help with the cost of services. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
