Snuffer, Marian Woody

Marian Woody Snuffer, 29, born April 25, 1935, of Christiansburg, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hazel Woody; brother, Frank ‘Franky’ Woody Jr.; sisters, Norma ‘Sister’ Bisellia, Mary Florence ‘Wootsie’ Schneider, Betty Jo ‘BJ’ Penny Roope.

Marian is survived by her husband of 64 years, Samuel S. Snuffer Jr.; sons, Samuel S. Snuffer III and wife Tonya, Robert B. ‘Benny’ Snuffer and wife Elaine; grandchildren, Brandon Lane Snuffer and Cameron Dixon, Susan Danielle Snuffer and Tae Canady, Kimberly Vaughan and husband Mark, Christie Thornton Albert, Joshua Ferguson, Adam Ferguson, Anna Crockett; great-grandchildren, Jackson ‘Jax’ Snuffer, Alexis ‘Lexi’ Renee Robinson, Byron Vaught, Dustin Brown, Bryson Albert, Briann Vaughan; brothers, Jerry ‘Gippy’ Woody, Michael Steven ‘Mickey’ Woody, Joseph ‘Bobo’ Woody; sisters, Lila Mae ‘Twinkle’ Treece, Margaret ‘Margie Jo’ Broughton, Kathy ‘Copper’ Woody; as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends whom she considered as family.

Marian is at rest now after having fought a long hard battle with cancer. The family would like to thank the staff of Blue Ridge Cancer Care, especially Dr. Robert Rotche for taking care of Marian.

Visitation will be Friday, December 15, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ron Burke officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
