Snidow, David Allen

David Allen Snidow of Pembroke, VA departed this life Friday night, March 31, 2023 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born in Pearisburg, VA on April 5, 1946, he was a son of the late Joe Johnston Snidow and Mary Dee Kelly Snidow.

He was a graduate of Giles High School. He then went to serve his country in the US Navy. During his time in the Navy, he had the privilege of serving as ceremonial guard for several VIP funerals in Washington, DC. After his completion in the Navy, he worked for Ja Nearing Co in Maryland. He then returned to the family farm in Pembroke where he was raised.

He is survived by his son, Timothy Allen Snidow (Shauna) of Pennsylvania and two grandchildren, Makenna Snidow and Brady Snidow. He is also survived by his siblings: Don E Snidow (Sally) of Richmond, VA, Barbara S Meredith (Bill) of Pembroke, Peggy S. Worley (Don) of Woolwine, VA, Shelvy S Worley-Nester (Clifton) of Pembroke; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and mother and friend of his son, Mary Louise Snidow of Glenn Dale, Maryland; special nephew, Joey Meredith, and special niece, Missy Meredith who spent a lot of time with David; special friends, Sandy and Sheila Collins, Skipper Williams, Bobby Kessinger, Alan Hilton, Steve Bremer (favorite cousin, Larry Snidow), Linda Bailey, recently deceased long time friend and neighbor, Duke Mahaffey, his farm buddy, Billy Dalton, and furry baby, “Blackie”.

Per David’s request, he will be cremated and there will be a planned memorial service at a later date on the family farm. David has made preparations of accepting Jesus Christ into his heart and headed to his mansion with his Heavenly Father. The most important thing you can do is to be a witness and tell your loved ones about Jesus. Eternity is too long to be wrong! Make your preparations today.
