Smith, Selma L.

Selma L. “Sally” Smith,  78, of Christiansburg, VA, died peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Smith, son, Sam Smith, granddaughter, Jeanna, sister, Pearl Radford, and brother, Buddy Mabry.

Sally worked hard all of her life as a housekeeper and was known and loved to all as “Maw Maw”. She is survived by her children, Kathy Bordewisch and husband Cliff of Salem, VA, Roger Smith and wife Robin of Christiansburg, VA and Debra Duncan of Radford, VA, grandchildren, Cliff (Kathryn), Josh, Mitchell, Alex, and Logan, great granddaughter Maelee (Angie), and sister, Millie Howell of Richmond, VA.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Richfield Retirement, Lewis Gale Medical Center Salem, the Crystal Springs Dialysis Center and Dr. Carl Hannah for all of their care and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 8, 2014 at 6:00 pm at New Hope Church of God in Christiansburg. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor T. Michael Bond officiating.
