Ruby Ellen Hamilton Smith, 95, of McCoy, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at the home of her daughter, Lodis. She was born in Bland County on May 13, 1911 to the late Alexander and Josephine Tickle Hamilton.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grayton Smith; three sons, Paul Edward Smith, Stancil Grayton Smith, Harry Ardanis Smith; one daughter, Carmen Josephine Weeks; a granddaughter, Melanie Southern.

She attended Sunnyside Pentecostal Holiness Church and Oak Grove Church.

She is survived by her two sons and a daughter-in-law, Clinton and Ann Smith, Sunnyside, Michael Smith, Prices Fork; five daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Galen Howell, Troutville, Lodis and Robert Sickey, Pilot, Barbara and Jack Perdue, Longshop, Dallas and James Akers, Christiansburg, Janice and Edward Vanhoozier, Riner; son-in-law, Guy Edgar Weeks, Riner; daughters-in-law, Mary Ward Smith, Pilot, Brenda Snider Smith, Catawba; 26 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two lifelong friends, Rachel McCoy and Francis Sublett, both of McCoy.

The family would like to thank Carilion Hospice of the New River Valley, and Rose Mary Wyman. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Sunnyside Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Layne Board, the Rev. Pete Flinchum, and the Rev. Dennis Hutchison officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, Norris Run.

Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Friday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
