Smith, Pearl Roberts

Pearl Roberts Smith, 82, of Christiansburg, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 3, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred L. Smith Sr.; son, Alfred L. Smith Jr.; parents, William W. and Juanita Nunley Roberts; brother, John Roberts; and sister, Frances Swain.

She is survived by her children, Joseph Smith, Matthew Smith, and Brenda Martin; grandchildren, Adam Smith, Lewis and TerryAnne Smith, Bobby and Wanda Martin, Dewayne and Sue Ellen Martin, Johnny and Tonya Martin, Brandon Smith, and Stacey West; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, James and Hoover Roberts, Nancy McGrady, Peggy Woolwine, Faye Curtis, Helen Hughes, and Brenda Custer; as well as other extended family and friends.

Pearl was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2013, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service.
