Smith, Patricia Higgins
Patricia Lucille Smith, age 81, of Christiansburg Virginia, died, Monday, December, 21, 2020. She was born in Erwin, Tennessee on May 31, 1939 to the late Virginia Alberta Higgins. Preceded in death by her husband Warren Elwin Smith, Son Paul David Peterson, and Daughter Michele Joyce Peterson.
Our beautiful Patricia loved her husband and family. She always cared for others first, she had the biggest heart, giving hugs and kisses, and telling everyone “I love you darlin.” Patricia had a vibrant energetic zeal for life, she was so much fun to be around. Patricia was the sweetest, kindest, most accepting person, she was genuine and true, she loved everyone she met. She always found enjoyment in making other people happy and making sure their needs were met with amazing food (best biscuits ever) and a clean home always ready for visitors. Patricia had an unbridled love of all little children. She loved to dance and sing along to classic country music. Her beautiful laughter was infectious. She enjoyed living in the beautiful mountains of Tennessee and Virginia. She enjoyed going for long walks through the country and loved her animals. Patricia’s favorite places to visit were Mabry Mill, The Cascades, Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway and Mountain Lake. Patricia excelled at every job she had, beautician, cashier, store manager, factory worker, bookkeeping for the family business. Everything she put her mind to she did with pride and excellence. Once she retired, she enjoyed sitting on the front porch, talking with neighbors, and travelling with her husband.
She was many things to all, but to us she is our precious Patricia, our mother and grandmother. She is survived by daughters, Phoebe Peterson, Teresa Nyboer (Bob Bailey), Tamera Stoakes (Jeff Stoakes), Bambi (Su) Brown (Mark Hardegan); brothers-in-law, William Smith (Juanita), Winfrey Smith (Sherry) and Wayne Smith (Ann); grandchildren Rachel Webb (Shane Mabry), Jackie West (Brian West), Jeremy Brown (Jessica Brown), Justin Bolton, Zachery Branch, Theresa Stoakes, Kaylee Branch, Alex Stoakes (Hannah Stoakes), Leah Stoakes, Devin Hardegan, Cressida Hardegan, Hunter Peterson, Kyla Peterson. Great Grandchildren, Aaron, Abby, Joulina, Jackson, Madison, Cadence, Gracie, Dakota, Oliver, Elaina, Leona, and Samuel.
A graveside celebration of Patricia’s life will be held Tuesday, December 29th at 1:00 pm at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 2880 N Franklin St, Christiansburg, VA 24073.
