Smith, Michael Eugene

Michael Eugene Smith, 62, of Pilot, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014. He attended the Christian Fellowship Tabernacle for 52 years. Michael was born on August 31, 1952, in Merrimac, VA, to the late James and Hester Jones Smith.

Michael was preceded in death by his brothers, Randolph Smith and James ‘Doug’ Smith; brothers-in-law, William Poff and Lester Buchanan; and a niece, Rebecca Smith. He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth Smith, Wanda Smith, Roberta Poff, all of Pilot, Regina and Bobby Kendrick of Pulaski, and Patty and Frank Huggin of Penneton Gap, VA. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Vance (Ed) and Linda Smith, Ray ‘June’ and Jean Smith, all of Pilot, and Dianne Smith of Christiansburg; as well as several nieces and nephews he admired and who admired him.

Michael was a personal friend to Rev. and Mrs. Earnest Fulcher of Christiansburg and to Dale and Norma Bragg of Radford. A big thank you to a special niece, Sandra Burress, who was always by his side.

Michael appreciated and loved everyone at the Christian Fellowship Tabernacle.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Earnest Fulcher officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
