Smith, Mary Woods
Mary Edith Smith, 89 of Newport, VA departed this life Thursday, June 25, 2020 in the loving care of her family. Born June 3, 1931, in Craig County she was the daughter of the late John and Allie Huffman Woods.
Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Albert Smith; and brothers, Stanley Woods, Wesley Woods, and Carl Woods.
Left to cherish the memory of Mrs. Smith are a son, Larken Smith (Joyce) of Newport, VA; grandsons, Justin Smith of Blacksburg, VA, and Brandon Smith of Roanoke, VA; and a great-granddaughter, Susanna Smith of Roanoke.
There will be a funeral service held for Mrs. Smith Monday, June 29, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Level Green Christian Church with Pastor Duane Wente officiating. Family will receive friends at Level Green Christian Church, Sunday June 28, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Mary’s memory to Level Green Christian Church.

So sorry to learn of our good friend and neighbor Edith Smith passing. Our deepest sympathies to her son Larken and the family. Didn’t Learn of the visitation or funeral until after both had happened.
