Smith, Levi

Levi Smith, infant son of Mark Anthony and Kacie Noel Havens Smith of Pulaski went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 14, 2007 at Baptist Hospital, Pensacola, Fla. Levi Smith’s heart stopped on the 14th of Dec. 2007, just before birth and was still born.

His parents are missionaries and said of their son’s birth, “Job said it best by saying, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”

The Lord took our son before we could teach him about Jesus Christ and the joy of serving Him, but little did we know that Levi would teach us so much about the joy of serving Him even in sorrow. Levi taught us the difference between joy and sorrow in a heart beat. And we hope all who read about Levi learn that lesson. Is your heart right with GOD??

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Naomi Grace Smith; maternal grandparents, Darrell & Tammie Havens, of Pulaski; paternal grandparents, Ronda Dinger, Radford, and Anthony Ray & Linda Smith, Wirtz, Va.; maternal great grandparents, E. C. & Marlene Havens, Bland, Louise Womack, Beckley, W. Va.; paternal great grandparents, Raymond & Sarah Dinger, Bluefield, W. Va., Carolyn Thompson, Tazewell; aunts & uncles, Devin & Brandi Sutherland, Sumter, S.C., Amanda Oliver, Pulaski, Kelly Smith, Pulaski; cousins, Brayden Parker Sutherland, Hailey & Lindsey Oliver; numerous loving great aunts and uncles and cousins.
