amem-fire-rescueRobert Lee Smith, Jr., 48, of Elliston, went to Heaven Friday, August 21, 2015 at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. He was born in Christiansburg on March 2, 1967.

He was a member of the Christiansburg Rescue Squad before transferring his membership to Shawsville Rescue Squad where he served as Vice President until his health would no longer permit.

He is survived by his wife, Starlet Angel Smith, his son, Zachary Smith, his daughter, Hope Smith, all of Elliston; his parents, Robert Lee, Sr., and Connie Smith, of Christiansburg; his brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Amy Smith, Wisconsin; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Betty Bland, Elliston, sisters-in-law, Ashley Bland, Yan Shepherd and husband, Stuart, brothers-in-law, Jon Bland, Shawn Blake; a niece, Faith Tes, and a nephew, Aidan Shepherd.

Funeral services will be held privately for the family only. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
